I would like to thank the Welsh Dobermann Club for supporting me and inviting me to award my first set of CCs judging at their Championship Show. The show was a credit to the hard working committee and was well organised with beautiful rosettes on offer as well as lovely Welsh Slate coaster mementos for class winners and major awards. Thanks also to my 2 stewards who kept everything running smoothly during the show. The ring size was very good with plenty of room to allow assessment of movement.

Best Puppy Dog and Reserve Best Puppy in Show

6 month old black and rust dog. He is a super smart puppy and presents a lovely square outline. Rich rust markings, level head planes with dark almond eyes and keen expression. He and his handler were a great team. Straight front to lovely neat feet. Evident forechest and good spring of rib for age. Good width to stifle and straight hocks. Moved very well, consistent. He will have a bright future I am sure.

9 month old brown and rust dog. He has a tidy frame with good topline held on the move. Deep brown colour with rich rust markings. Straight front. Evident forechest, firm topline to well filled croup and good tailset. Well angulated throughout. Moved well.

2nd Bodfield’s Grafmax Aladdin Sane

10 month old black and rust dog. Strong head with dark eye. Straight front and square outline. Good depth to chest but not the angulation through stifle as 1st.

18 month old black and rust dog. Good head planes and dark eye. Taller. I preferred the front assembly of 1st. Strong topline to well set tail. Muscular and well angulated rear. Level hocks. Moved with purpose and drive.

20 month old brown and rust dog. Strong head with level planes. Rich brown coat and rust markings. Strong straight front. Good width to stifles. Not holding his topline as well as 1st on the move.

Well handled to get the best from him. A bright future awaits when fully mature.

2 ½ year old Brown & Rust Dog showing a pleasing, square and compact outline. Masculine head with level planes and dark well placed eyes and a keen expression. Straight front to tidy feet. Plenty of forechest and depth to elbows with good spring of ribs. Good length of neck and smooth going into withers. Straight topline but a little wrinkle over the croup going into the tailset. Well muscled and angulated throughout. A balanced and steady ground covering mover with fantastic reach and drive.

4 year old back and rust dog. Overall a larger dog than 1. Masculine head with dark well placed eyes. Straight front. Not quite as clean as 1 going from neck to withers. Well angulated and muscled throughout which showed in his accurate movement.

Almost 9 year old black and rust male in excellent condition and belying his age. He has a lovely square outline and is in fit hard condition. Correct level head planes and dark eyes. Straight front to the tightest of feet. Excellent sweep of stifle. Loved his topline which he retained on the move. Movement was powerful and accurate with lovely reach and rear drive.

8 ½ year old black and rust male still retaining excellent muscle condition. Square outline. Lovely rust markings. Masculine head with dark eyes. Just showing his age a little in front movement. He retains a strong topline and is well angulated throughout.

Well filled croup to correct tailset. Showing her socks off today she moved with reach and drive, with her excellent angulation powering her around the ring.

20 month old black & rust bitch, Well handled, eye catching and she didn’t stop showing for the entire time she was in the ring. She has an excellent typy outline. Straight front to tight feet. Super head with level planes, dark oval eyes which are well set and give a keen and ready expression. Her clean neck flows into well angulated shoulders. Excellent balance of forechest and depth with well sprung ribs. Super tuck up. Excellent width to stifles, parallel hocks. She came into her own on the move where she took advantage of the space and showed her excellent balance, reach and drive, propelling her into the BIS spot.

Almost 3 year old black and rust bitch. Square outline with nice dark markings. Feminine head with level planes. I would prefer a bit more stop. Straight front and good depth. Excellent angulation. Topline could be a little firmer.

Evident forechest with good depth of chest. Her strong neck flows smoothly to her hard topline and well filled croup. Well angulated throughout with strong rear quarters and straight hocks. She moved powerfully and steadily with determination. In contention for the RCC - in the challenge I just preferred the tuck up of the RCC winner.
